Ireland and Ireland Inspires offer funding for Meetings and Events in Ireland in 2010
1 April 2010
There has never been a better time to bring your meeting or event to Ireland as ‘Ireland Inspires’ and ‘Failte Ireland’ offer bursaries and funding towards meetings and event in Ireland in 2010.
The first of these offers is the ‘Incentivised Meetings and Events On Dublin’s Doorstep’ bursary from Ireland Inspires. As part of ‘the 'Ireland Inspires’ campaign to promote accommodation and venues on Dublin’s doorstep, a bursary is being offered up to the value of €2000 for the first five new bookings confirmed by the end of May. The incentive is being offered for each of the 10 ‘Dublin’s Doorstep’ Properties which include Carton House, Dunboyne Castle, Glasson Golf Hotel, Johnstown House, Knightsbrook, Mullingar Park Hotel, Osprey, Sheraton Athlone, Tullamore Court, and Wineport Lodge. The grant allows €20 - €50 per head per event and any event for more than 50 guests for two nights will attract the full amount of €2000. The bursary may be used towards a Gala function, entertainment or towards an activity on site that will take place in 2010. Click here for more.
In 2010 Failte Ireland is also offering funding towards corporate meetings in Ireland. This fund is specifically for meetings with a minimum of 500 overseas attendees, and is applicable during the bidding stage when Ireland may be up against other destinations, it is not applicable if the business is already won for Ireland. The application must be made through an Irish DMC, PCO, or regional convention bureau.
