Delaney on Networking and Going Global

Patrick Delaney, Managing Director of Ovation Global DMC, talked with James Latham from MEETINGS: review at a recent EIBTM networking event about the importance of global networks in the meetings and events industry.
In his interview Patrick talks about networking and the importance of people and relationships. He refers to networking in the new context where the quality of relationships and people coming together now has an actual ROI attached to it, whereas before it was not something that was necessarily measured,
"networking in the new context is one which has a set goal, has a deliverable,and is measured"
Patrick talks about the importance of Global Networks. He refers to the growing need for one single provider who is capable of providing a consistent service across multiple destinations. "People have needs in different destinations and in light of the current economic credit crunch, companies need to show real value. This is something that can be delivered effectively on a global platform, in terms of scale, depth and security"
