Santo Domingo

Discovered by Columbus and the first capital of the new world, Santo Domingo is today an exciting mix of extraordinary historical attractions and modernity. Santo Domingo is considered the true metropolis of the Caribbean, ahead of Kingston, La Havana and San Juan. The city attracts many international firms and franchises due to its geographic location, stability and growing economy.

Santo Domingo is a lively and exciting city of museums, culture, art, international cuisine, pulsating night life, casinos, shopping opportunities, top class hotels and ideal venues for meetings and incentives. General costs are lower than the rest of the Caribbean capitals.
In addition to its historical and natural tresures, its privileged location overlooking the Carribbean Sea and proximity to famous beaches, the city is a centre of economic activity in the Dominican Republic.

There are plenty of choices for congress and meeting planners in Santo Domingo. Hotel Dominican Fiesta & Casino has a 2850-person capacity convention center, and hotels such as Inter Continental V Centenario, Barceló Gran Hotel Lina, Meliá Santo Domingo, Renaissance Jaragua Hotel, Sheraton, among others, offer space for meetings and conferences for 400 to 1,200 attendees.

Santo Domingo is served by two international airports with connections worldwide. The largest airport, Las Americas International Airport is the busiest in the country handling more than 2.5 million passengers per year. The other airport, La Isabela, principally serves domestic and civil flights.
