emerges as number one city for quality of living
30 April 2009
Vienna has emerged as the number one city in the world for quality of living following a recent survey carried out by Mercer LLC. The survey graded cities around the world, assessing the standards its offers to visitors, workers and residents in terms of services, infrastructure, political stability and socio-economic welfare. Vienna with its low crime rates, extensive healthcare facilities, comprehensive transport structure and high quality education and housing, was named as the leading global city and achieved number one position over opposition from cities such as Vancouver in Canada and Auckland in New Zealand.
Martin Brezovich of Ovation Austria commented: " Vienna is a truly wonderful city to live, work and visit. Often overlooked as a key European city, it is fantastic to see Vienna gain recognition as one of the top cities in the world"
